Baby Beavers!  Beaver kits help out at the new beaver lodge at Sam Shine Foundation Preserve in Monroe County, where this busy family has beat us to it and begun the work for us on wetland restoration projects we have planned for the area in the coming years with Sycamore Land Trust.

 

Starting in November 2021, beavers began building a new dam in a field formerly used for agriculture on the preserve, starting the process of transforming the landscape back into a thriving and diverse wetland habitat.
